Position Overview:

Working within the Winnipeg Integrated Services framework and in collaboration with Manitoba Health and Healthy Living, Healthy Child Manitoba, FNIHB, Women's Health, Child Health and other WRHA programs and community partners, the Team Manager HPECD/Travel Health will provide leadership in the following key areas:

  • Program planning, development, implementation, evaluation and management of PPH HPECD program area, the Antenatal Home Care program and Public Health Central Intake, and the Travel Health office.
  • Development, implementation and evaluation of the Population and Public Health Strategic Plan in the area of Healthy Parenting and Early Child Development (HPECD) and Travel Health.
  • Contribute to the Primary Health Care Strategic Plan and identify annual priorities and a corresponding work plan for the Antenatal Home Care Program, and Travel Health.
  • Integration of antenatal, postnatal and early childhood services internal and external to the WHRA in particular Women's Health, Child Health, Healthy Child Manitoba, Manitoba Health Healthy Living and Seniors and FNIHB within the community health services structure.
  • Supervision of the Antenatal Home Care Program team, Prenatal Connections program team, Health Coordinator, Travel Health team, and PPH Central Intake/HPECD/Travel Health administrative staff.
  • Management of other related teams and services as required.

Experience:


  • The incumbent should have a minimum of four years related work experience and have demonstrated successful leadership, program coordination, supervisory and management skills.
  • Two years of management experience preferred.
  • The incumbent will demonstrate a sound understanding of the principles of primary health care, population health, public health and health promotion, immunization and epidemiology.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate):


  • Bachelor's degree in nursing is required.
  • A Master's degree in a relevant business, health or social services is preferred.

Certification/Licensure/Registration:


  • Full membership in good standing with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba.
  • Possession of a valid Manitoba Class 5 Driver's License required.

  • Demonstrates budgeting and financial reporting skills.

Physical Requirements:


  • Access to a reliable motor vehicle suitable for all environmental conditions.
  • Subject to immunizations and tuberculin testing as per WRHA Policy.
This term position may end earlier as outlined in your collective agreement.
