The Role:
The Business Analyst will work with Investment Management Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and other stakeholders to formulate and define business and/or systems scope, requirements and objectives based on a good understanding of applicable industry requirements.
Use understanding of business objectives, technical environment, and project timeline and scope to analyze needs; capture them in documentation of business and system requirements.
High level responsibilities
- Facilitate and drive requirements gathering sessions
- Actively engage with the vendor to ensure technical solutions meet business requirements
- Gather and document functional and nonfunctional requirements
- Actively participate in system configuration based on business process flows and requirements
- Perform requirements management planning
- Collaborate with business and systems experts
- Lead analysis of business processes, procedures, data and rules
- Negotiate and influence requirements direction
- Perform analysis and evaluation of business processes, information and rules
- Make determination of alternatives for optimizing business processes
- Identify solutions to business problems
- Create business process models, context diagrams and use case models
- Help or facilitate process improvement and/or process mapping sessions
- Adhere to formal software development processes and procedures
Skills
-
Experience working with implementations of Capital Markets Order Management and Trading solutions for Derivatives Asset Classes:
Knowledge of and experience with various OMS Vendor Platforms:- Investment knowledge and front to back
experience working with Derivatives throughout trade lifecycle: - Experienced in agile, iterative project techniques including Scrum; experience with Jira is a plus
- Experienced in Waterfall methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to partner with investment personnel to elicit and advance requirements
- Seasoned individual capable of handling broad scope projects that have medium to longterm focus
- Demonstrated ability to understand how tasks and milestones collaborate and connect together across related projects.
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively using verbal and written methods
- Proficient with standard documentation tools (Visio, Excel, Word)
