Job Summary:


Reporting to the Supervisor, Data Centre and Cloud Infrastructure, the position provides hardware and software support by responding, analyzing, researching and resolving technical issues via telephone, remote access or on site, ensuring service levels are met.


Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Assist with the management and maintenance of data centre technologies such as server, storage hardware, HVAC, UPS, cloud infrastructure and networking.
  • Manage and maintain operational security functions working closely with the Security team.
  • Investigates and purposes new data centre solutions.
  • Maintains, manages and renews SSL certificates.
  • Maintains security compliance of the Region's mobile workforce through hard drive and USB encryption and Windows Defender, through regular maintenance, audit and reviews.
  • Manages and maintains Enterprise Data Protection (backups and restores).
  • Maintain comprehensive and accurate system documentation.
  • Works closely with external vendors and managing relationships.
  • Participates in rotational standby technical support.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:


Essential

  • Diploma or degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
  • Five (5) years IT Systems Administration experience.
  • Technical expertise with Azure Cloud infrastructure/M365, Microsoft Server 2016/2019 including Exchange 2016, SQL Server, SCCM, FortiGate firewalls, Data backup and recovery management, and Citrix.
  • Strong knowledge of LAN/WAN configuration and design, VPNs, Wi-Fi, Active Directory, Identity management, and VMware Virtualization
  • Excellent communication, written and presentation skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment.

Preferred

  • Technical certifications such as Microsoft, ITIL, VMware and Cloud
