Hiring Unit:

  • Department of Biology_

Position Summary:

  • Develops the BON in a Box website (JS, PHP, HTML, CSS) and Pipeline Engine (React JS);
  • Maintains the database (MySQL, MariaDB) and does structural changes when necessary;
  • Collaborates with the GEO BON secretariat, the BON in a Box team and a graphic designer;
  • If necessary, provides support to users of the website.


Other Qualifying Skills and/or Abilities- Computer science student;- Programming;- HTML & CSS;- Database query and management;- Must be able to work 6hrs in person/ Stewart Biology Building (the remaining hours can be performed remotely); Completed relevant computer science courses;- Web development experience (including projects, contests and internships);- Knowledge of French and English: McGill University is an English-language university where day to day duties may require written English communication.

The level of English required for this position has been assessed at a level 2 on a scale of 0-4.
