About This Opportunity
A family practice in the community of Antigonish has an opportunity for 1 full-time and 1 part-time family physician to join their team. The team works collaboratively with a nurse practitioner at the clinic. Opportunity exists to participate in a variety of other areas that fit your professional interests and skill set including, but not limited to, emergency medicine, hospitalist, obstetrics, etc. Physicians are supported to engage in research and/or teaching positions with Dalhousie University.
The family practice clinic is centrally located in downtown Antigonish, and is only minutes away from the local St. Martha's Regional Hospital (SMRH). SMRH is approximately two hours from the region's tertiary care pediatric facility, the IWK Health Centre, which provides neonatal support. St. Martha's Regional Hospital was founded in by the Congregation of the Sisters of St. Martha and is approximately a 90 bed facility with more than 60 physicians practicing in a variety of medical specialties and sub-specialties.
This facility serves a population of nearly 60, from Antigonish, Guysborough, and surrounding communities. family physicians are joined by colleagues in:
Community based care is further supported by a men's and women's health centre, chronic pain clinic, methadone clinic, and youth clinic at the local high school.
