What you will do:

The Scrum Master (Kanban) acts as a "Servant/Leader" for the Scrum Team. You'll also be a Coach, a Facilitator, an Educator, and a Change Agent.

This is what your day-to-day will look like:

Servant Leader

  • Contribute concretely to the creation of a collaborative and safe environment in the team by acting quickly on the elements affecting it.
  • Inspire the team to surpass themselves, respect their values and achieve their vision of becoming a high performance team.

Coach:

  • Ensure that all dev team members are committed to the delivery and success of the project.
  • Encourage, support and assist the team to reach their full potential and set challenging goals.
  • Provide honest feedback and dare to ask tough questions to get the team to question themselves and push their own limits.
  • Listen primarily to understand the other person before jumping into problemsolving mode.
  • Meet individually with the backlog manager to understand his current issues and how he can help.

Facilitator

  • Effectively shield the team from the majority of external distractions and noise and adjust according to the team's maturity level.
  • Ensure that all Scrum or Kanban events are effective, that the right people are invited and that all preparation is done.
  • Implement action plans to improve upstream planning, collaboration and communication with stakeholders external to the team.

Obstacle Remover:

  • Act on the removal of obstacles that slow down the team and ensure that blockers are addressed quickly.
  • Concretely support the backlog manager and help him/her overcome these management and planning challenges.

Educator | Mentor**:

  • Master the concepts of Scrum and Kanban, stay up to date (articles, books, videos) and know how to explain the reasons behind the concepts by presenting concrete examples to illustrate them.
  • Master the value optimization techniques and use them to guide the backlog manager in the concrete management of his backlog.
  • Expose the team to agile delivery best practices that can be integrated with Scrum or Kanban (DevOps, automated testing, etc.) and get them to think about their potential use in the team.

Change Agent

  • Quickly and effectively challenge the work organization when their decisions could affect the quality of what is delivered by the team or the team's performance.
  • Understand the dynamics of the organization and effectively manage organizational conflict.
  • Present ideas for organizational process improvements to management with confidence, influence and preparation.

Manager:

  • Know how to manage the limits of selforganization and provide the necessary framework for the team to respect organizational requirements.
  • Monitor budget projections and potential impacts on project timelines and profitability.
  • Identify potential project risks. Clearly and periodically follow up with clients, the team and the organization.
