Your opportunity:
Under the direction of the Director, Advancement you will support the advancement of the strategic Annual and Leadership Giving fundraising initiatives for the School of Continuing Studies.
In collaboration with the Division of University Advancement, volunteers and the university community, you will bring a skilled, analytical and process-driven approach to identifying, cultivating and soliciting donors at the Annual and Leadership Giving level by developing and implementing donor engagement plans.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing needs and contributing to the development and implementation of plans for prospect identification, cultivation, solicitation and recognition
- Identifying, evaluating and recommending the necessary steps to bring the prospect closer to making a major financial commitment to the University
- Providing feedback on the planning and implementation of fundraising campaigns
- Maintaining ongoing relationships with donors whose cooperation is important to the University
- Generating reports to track fundraising progress against campaign goals
- Developing components of programs and initiatives that advance strategic objectives
- Serving as a resource to others by providing (nonsupervisory) administrative guidance
Essential Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or acceptable combination of equivalent experience.
- A minimum of three (3) years' recent experience in a fundraising role of which as least one year has been focused on leadership annual giving (LAG) with a proven track record of success.
- Demonstrated successful experience with leadership annual giving (LAG)/ annual giving (gifts from $1,000 to $25,000).
- Experience with donor contact and personal solicitation for donations.
- Experience developing tailored fundraising initiatives that support strategic initiatives, including stewardship activities.
- Proven face to face fundraising skills and ability to solicit for support and steward donors and supporters with verbal and written methods.
- Demonstrated successful trackrecord in building and strengthening relationships with key donor contacts.
- Experience working with Arbor or a similar database management system.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a strong ability to influence and engage a wide range of donors as well as build and maintain longterm relationships; exceptional interpersonal skills; excellent presentation skills.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to access and assess data from multiple sources in order to make informed decisions and recommendations.
- A proven high level of integrity, donor confidentiality and discretion with sensitive information, tasks, and relationships.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills. Strong problemsolving skills.
- Must be able to multitask and meet deadlines; and exercise accuracy and attention to detail.
