Opportunity:


MacEwan University is seeking a Learning and Development Coordinator for a full-time continuing opportunity with our Organizational Design and Development unit.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, you will provide coordination and support of various learning and development opportunities, including new hire orientation, career development, employee recognition, engagement, and leadership development.

Working directly with employees and managers, you will provide efficient and effective administrative and end-user support for all employee development programs and activities offered by Human Resources.

This position promotes programs and their enrollment, facilitates course evaluations, and maintains MacEwan's learning and development systems, tools, budget and professional development funds.


Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing resource materials and communications for various programs and offerings for the Organizational Development unit, including program toolkits, training materials, surveys, FAQs, posters, and presentations;
  • Coordinating the development and implementation of the annual employee learning and activity calendar and work plan;
  • Serving as a resource and superuser of MacEwan's recognition and employee learning management software, which includes providing training, answering inquiries, tracking activity, analyzing metrics, and reporting;
  • Providing development, coordination, and delivery of the New Employee Orientation;
  • Coordinating the development, administration, and analysis of survey or feedback data gathered from training courses and programs;
  • Promoting training opportunities and learning activities;
  • Coordinating the planning and execution of largescale employee recognition and learning events;
  • Administering the University's staff professional development funds, which includes liaising with employees, coordinating with internal departments that administer eligible programming, keeping records, and verifying receipts;
  • Conducting data analysis and reporting on staff professional development fund usage;
  • Delivering presentations and demos on Learning and Development programs and systems;
  • Developing and coordinating administrative processes for internal courses and programs, including administering vendorcourse delivery;
  • Creating and maintaining documentation of policies, practices, and processes, including the maintenance of the Learning and Development intranet pages, articles, and FAQs;
  • Administering program budgets, including tracking, reconciling expenses and maintaining contracts; and
  • Supporting various team, committee, and projectbased meetings through agenda creation, rooms bookings and resources, transcription of notes, preparation of background materials and development of presentations.
