As an
Assistant Controller with the OCM Auto Financing Group, you will be at the forefront of incorporating financial reporting with operations.

Working closely with the senior management team, your role will include managing all accounting and financial functions, providing timely reports, and contributing to the strategic direction of the company.

As the Assistant Controller, you will report directly to the CFO and perform the following job responsibilities:

  • Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL and account reconciliation, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Provide leadership and support to accounts receivable and accounts payable departments.
  • Complete fullcycle accounting.
  • Develop and manage business processes and accounting policies in accordance with the company's procedures to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Prepare monthly and annual operating budgets, financial forecasts, and report variances.
  • Prepare and publish timely monthly financial statements.
  • Support monthend and yearend close process.
  • Support quarterly compliance audits and annual financial audits (IFRS).
  • Monitor the financial performance of the company.
  • Assist in the preparation and monitoring of bank covenants monthly.
  • Communicate financial metrics to senior management.
  • Additional duties as necessary.
  • Three to five (35) years of relevant experience in a similar role.
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
  • A CPA designation or equivalent, is considered an asset.
  • Experience in the automotive industry is preferred.
  • Experience working with Sage 50 is preferred.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external stakeholders to understand their needs.
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to thrive in a fastpaced and evolving environment.
  • Selfmotivated and detailoriented to ensure deliverables are accurate.
  • Strong data entry capabilities.

Other:

  • This is a fulltime, inoffice position (located downtown Ottawa), Monday through Friday. There is a possibility to work hybrid in the future.
  • The office hours are 8:30am 4:30pm.
