    Description

    We are looking for a QA Analyst I in 6620 Kitimat Rd, Unit 2, Mississauga, ON L5N 2B8 CAN. This is an entry-level position, requiring a general science or food science diploma or degree.
    Perform basic chemical and physical analyses, and sensory evaluation on food and non-food samples with a key focus on seafood products (shelf-stable, fresh and frozen)

    • Prepare samples for analysis and analyze according to procedures and methods.
    • Evaluate product quality based on sensory testing, packaging integrity, labeling and regulatory requirements, and performance and client specifications. Experience as it pertains specifically to seafood testing and can integrity testing is an asset, but not a mandatory requirement. Willingness to learn and conduct testing on seafood and can products is a must.
    • Support corporate quality and continuous improvement process. Perform necessary tasks related to quality control parameters for the function being
    S. and International Regulations, Guidelines and Standards with particular focus and willingness to learn requirements as they pertain to seafood

    • This position has the responsibilities and authority to identify departures from the management system or test procedures and document such observations in accordance with the prescribed non-conforming system and notify the supervisor/manager.
    • Responsibility to support laboratory management in the implementation, maintenance and improvement of the management system.
    • Adhere to all safety policies.
    • Be able/willing to answer phones and take messages.
    • Awareness of and adhering to good food safety practices Perform other related duties as needed.

    Internal Interlocutors:
    The incumbent has occasional contact with the personnel outside the immediate working unit.
    A valid driver's license is required in order to conduct sampling duties using company provided vehicle.
    The incumbent works in a laboratory setting with proper lighting and temperature control. Occasional exposure to laboratory fumes, chemicals, and materials will occur when in the laboratory.

    Sampling requires travel to storage locations and working in warehouses under a wide variety of conditions of lighting, cleanliness, noise and temperature (including frozen storage facilities), Continuous lifting of cases of product weighing up to 50lbs is required during sampling.

    Safety equipment including lab coat or coverall, hair net, protective headgear such as helmet, protective shoes, earplugs and safety glasses are usually required for work in these areas.
