OVERVIEW
We're offering a
free, 4 week course designed to introduce and guide you through the basics of Compositing. This course is meant to be for entry level applicants only. Applicants with no prior experience or formal VFX training are preferred.


This course will be 2D focused, making general pit stops along each step of the VFX Pipeline, but primarily focusing on Compositing.

We will be taking you 'behind the scenes' and showing you common techniques of how your favourite TV shows and Movies are made

Our aim is to demonstrate industry standard practices most commonly used to create what you see on the big screen

This workshop is aimed at Compositing from a beginner's standpoint. Those who are brand new to the software, Nuke will benefit from this 4 week Introduction to Compositing.

Our aim is to give back to the community by reaching out to emerging talent with a genuine interest in VFX and a passion to learn more about it.


WHAT TO EXPECT?
Bring with you an eagerness to learn, we aim to teach you the building blocks of VFX principles.

We will cover

  • What to look for and how to hone your 'VFX eye'.
  • Basic Compositing workflow, from a beginner's standpoint. With an overview of the VFX Pipeline and how the pieces fit together to achieve the desired final result
  • How to approach a shot, which potential methods are best.

REQUIREMENTS:


  • Over the age of 1
  • Proficiency in English.
  • No professional or formal training.
  • Any kind of visual art form portfolio.
  • An interest in Photography, Computer Graphics, Photoshop, Fine Art, Illustration, Fine Art or Visual Media is an advantage
  • Resume.
  • Access to a computer with an internet connection
  • Familiarity with Google Chrome and G Suite is a plus, we will communicate with you via GChat, GoogleMeet and Gmail.
  • Course will take place during EST so please let us know which timezone you are in.

    unpaid workshop.
  • Successful applicants will need to create an account with The Foundry and download _
    _Nuke Non Commercial__. Successful applicants will also need a stable internet connection, with a personal computer which can support Nuke._
