SUMMARY
We are seeking an experienced Methods/Production Manager to join our dynamic team in a permanent position.
This role will require frequent travel between Victoria, British Columbia, and Calgary, Alberta, to oversee new product development projects and work transfers within our aerospace manufacturing operations.
RESPONSIBLITIES
- New Product Development:_
- Lead crossfunctional teams in the development and implementation of new aerospace products, ensuring alignment with design specifications, quality standards, and production timelines.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, design, and quality assurance teams to translate product designs into efficient and scalable manufacturing processes.
- Develop comprehensive production plans, detailing workflow sequences, resource allocation, and scheduling to meet project deadlines.
- Monitor and evaluate production processes for effectiveness, identifying areas for improvement and implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and quality.
- Work Transfers:_
- Manage the seamless transfer of production processes and projects between our Victoria and Calgary facilities.
- Coordinate with teams at both locations to ensure consistent processes, quality standards, and timely execution of work transfers.
- Lead knowledge transfer initiatives, ensuring the smooth transition of technical and operational expertise between teams.
- Process Optimization:_
- Continuously analyze production processes, identifying opportunities for optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Implement lean manufacturing principles and best practices to improve efficiency and reduce waste.
- Lead process improvement initiatives, collaborating with crossfunctional teams to drive operational excellence.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:_
- Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain stringent quality assurance processes, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure that products meet or exceed quality specifications.
- Resource Management:_
- Allocate and manage resources effectively, including personnel, equipment, materials, and budget.
- Monitor resource availability and adjust production plans as needed to meet project demands.
- Travel and Communication:_
- Travel between Victoria, British Columbia, and Calgary, Alberta, as required, to oversee projects and facilitate collaboration between locations.
- Maintain clear and effective communication channels with teams at both facilities, ensuring alignment of goals and objectives.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Proven experience in methods/production management within the aerospace industry, with a focus on new product development and work transfers.
- Strong knowledge of aerospace manufacturing processes, quality standards, and regulations.
- Demonstrated expertise in lean manufacturing principles, process optimization, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to drive crossfunctional collaboration and inspire teams.
- Exceptional problemsolving and decisionmaking abilities.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Willingness and ability to travel frequently between Victoria, British Columbia, and Calgary, Alberta.
Job Types:
Full-time, Permanent
Salary:
$120,000.00-$140,000.00 per year
