Job Summary:

Hours of Work:

Up to 23 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays.


Your role:


  • Greet the public in a welcoming and friendly manner, consistently maintaining a positive attitude.
  • Provide ice maintenance during shifts and operate associated equipment as required.
  • Operate various models of iceresurfacing and ice maintenance equipment.
  • Perform opening and closing operations of the facility where assigned. Maintaining security requirements and acting as key holder.
  • Responsible for supervising rink attendant(s) also assigned to shift and maintaining expectations on facility operations.
  • Assist with maintaining safe environment throughout facility at all times.
  • Act as ambassador for the City of Guelph, representing such in a professional manner at all times.
  • Perform general cleaning/maintenance as assigned throughout each shift (e.g., sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, emptying waste containers in designated areas, washroom and dressing room cleaning, snow shoveling and setup/break down of specific event requirements).
  • Work in compliance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and adhere to all City of Guelph and facility service standards and policies.
  • Work with enthusiasm and professionalism as a member of operations team.
  • Work within the specifications of supervisor or assigned supervisory staff.
  • Perform any additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications:


  • Customer service experience and/or training required.
  • Previous facility experience required.
  • Installation/maintenance of ice and operation of various models of ice resurfacing and ice maintenance equipment.
  • Certified Ice Technician or any training courses in the CIT program considered an asset.
  • Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Excellent customer service, client relations, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be accurate and detail oriented.
  • Must be able to perform the physical requirements of the position such as standing, walking, lifting, and pushing and pulling.
  • Possession of valid Standard First Aid and CPR Certification is an asset.
  • Knowledge of basic operational functions, including affiliated roles & responsibilities.
  • Able to understand and comprehend all policies and procedures as they relate to the work being performed.
  • Able to follow instructions and operate various related cleaning equipment.
  • Able to maintain good working relationship with coworkers.
  • Wear assigned uniform in a professional and wellkept manner.

Rate:

$19.97
