Position Summary


The Account Manager is an Inside Sales role responsible for serving customers via telephone and occasional visits, with respect and professionalism.

The incumbent is accountable for dealing with customer sales, order completion, complaints, inquiries and processing transactions.


What you'll do:


  • Answer phones quickly, and professionally courteously and direct incoming calls to appropriate individuals.
  • Emphasize product features and benefits, quote prices, discuss credit terms, and prepare sales order forms and/or reports.
  • Maintain and foster relationships with current customers ensuring the customer's needs are being met.
  • Build and foster a network of referrals to create new opportunities for revenue growth.
  • Generate and develop new customer accounts to increase revenue, by coldcalling if necessary.
  • Research and resolve customer problems, acting as the customer liaison between other company departments when necessary.
  • Penetrate all targeted accounts and radiate sales from within the client base.
  • Upsell company products and services based on customer needs, in accordance with the Company's program standards.
  • Handle inbound, unsolicited prospect calls and convert them into sales.
  • Enter new customer data and update changes to existing accounts in the database.
  • Maintain accurate records; including sales call reports, expense reimbursement forms, billing invoices, and other documentation.
  • Record and enter and print orders received quickly courteously, and professionally.

What you'll need:


  • Minimum of 1 years' experience in an inside sales role within the steel service industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to create and conduct presentations when required.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs; Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driver's abstract.

Working Conditions:


  • Minimal travel required.
  • Overtime as required.
