Responsibilities may include:


  • Communicate Quality Control information to all relevant internal departments, outside vendors, and/or contractors to develop preventative solutions
  • Monitor performance of Quality Control systems to ensure effectiveness and efficiency
  • Conduct periodic product and process inspections; conduct physical quality control inspections on welded, machined and fabricated parts
  • Provide instruction on Quality guidelines and ways to eliminate deficiencies; recommend corrective actions
  • Create and maintain Quality Assurance control documentation and produce relevant reports: nonconformance, daily production quality, root cause analysis, quality trends
  • Review and update standard operating procedures or Quality Assurance manuals
  • Inspect and calibrate measuring equipment
  • Use measuring equipment, such as Vernier, calipers and micrometers, height and other precision measuring gauges
  • Coaching and developing others

Skills and Experience:


  • Diploma in Engineering or willing to work towards designation
  • Certified Quality Technician training would be an asset or willing to work towards CQT
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and other related engineering documents
  • Strong knowledge of raw materials, machining and fabrication production processes, quality control, costs, and ability to read fabrication drawings
  • Ability to measure complex profiles using a variety of measurement tools
  • Experience with test equipment calibration/repair
  • High level of mathematical skills
  • Selfmotivated team player with high integrity and initiative
  • Computer literacy (ERP Software, Microsoft Excel)
  • Strong organizational skills organize, plan and prioritize work
  • Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve effectively and efficiently
  • Strong communication with active listening skills, clear verbal expression, reading comprehension, ability to communicate effectively in writing
  • Ability to motivate and direct people as they work
