Description

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Develop and program software (PLC and/or PC based) specific to customer requirements.
Troubleshoot controls and electrical equipment at the customer's facility and make the necessary adjustments to bring equipment up to running status.
Report and correct abnormal equipment conditions and inaccurate actions by customer staff.
Required to work independently or as part of a team.
Ensure alignment of customer objectives with onsite work plan.
Support developing operating and troubleshooting knowledge of the operations team.
Review/suggest additional tools or equipment necessary to better operate or maintain customer equipment.
Make recommendations to repair/replace only items that require repair/replacement.
Travel to both domestic and international customer locations for long and shortterm support.
Lead onsite team and liase with customer and ATS Project Manager.
Coordinate third party vendors and assist to resolve technical issues as required.
Complete detailed Service Report for the services provided on a daily/weekly basis. Ensure customer issues have been resolved through followup communication and project/case closure if required.
Be available to be on call on a rotational basis.
Communicate with internal and external customers to understand needs and support resources and solutions accordingly.
Facilitate warranty/nonwarranty claims with the customer.
Ensure that all business activities are performed with the highest ethical standards and in compliance with the ATS Code of Business Conduct.
Adhere to all health and safety rules and procedures.
Takes initiative, innovative, and has a keen attention to detail
Ability to work effectively in fast paced multitasking environment with plant engineers, external vendors, operators, and management to manage project and assignment.

Must be willing to travel to customer sites.
Travel time will be up 80% during service rotation per year

Additional Information:

Education:
A post-secondary diploma or degree specializing in programming/electrical engineering or equivalent. Database/Robot/Vision experience is an asset.

Experience:

A minimum of four years of experience in a handson automation/control's environment. 3+ years of experience programming Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), and Human/Machine Interfaces (HMI) using Allen Bradley or Siemens software.
