The Strategy, Support and Integrated Initiatives division provides strategic and integrated policy and project services and functions for Justice and for Public Safety and Emergency Services.

The division's focus centres on cross-divisional and cross-ministry projects such as strategic policy initiatives, business transformations like Justice Digital, and federal-provincial-territorial initiatives, as well as integrated programs including restorative justice, community grants, specialized courts, libraries, Indigenous services, victims' services, agency oversight, research and evaluation, operational data reporting, and business intelligence and analysis


Role:

The Policy Analyst reports to the Manager of Strategic Policy in the Business Transformation branch.

As the Policy Analyst, you will perform research and analysis and develop recommendations and information materials on a broad range of issues that may affect the direction and operations of legislated programs within the department.

You will support government priorities, including department mandate commitments and other projects such as broad, systemic reviews of priority policy and legislative projects.

You will also be involved in supporting a wide-variety of cross-Ministry committees and working groups.

  • The ability to think strategically and develop solutions to complex problems,
  • The ability to provide facts in an objective manner,
  • Knowledge of the policy development cycle and government decisionmaking process,
  • Excellent verbal and written skills and
  • Theoretical knowledge of project coordination strategies.

Qualifications:


Minimum Requirements:


  • University graduation in a related field.
  • Demonstrated research and/or policy experience.
Equivalencies will be considered based on one-year experience for one year of education or one year of education for one year of experience


Assets:


  • Experience interpreting and writing policy documents.
  • Experience with project coordination and stakeholder engagement.
  • Demonstrated experience writing for a variety of audiences.
  • Experience in victim services, community justice programming, and criminal justice system organizations.

Salary:

$2,281.95 to $2,993.39 bi-weekly

($59,559 - $78,127 per annum)
