Consultant, Talent Acquisition (Term)

Term of Employment:
As Soon As Possible to November 1, 2024


Salary Range:
$57,933.19 to 79,380.20


Location: 2150 Chevrier Blvd.

Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm (35 hours/week)
- _anticipated 6 month term or the day before the employee being replaced returns._


Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide professional guidance to managers and employees specifically on recruitment and selection activities within the institution.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant federal, provincial and municipal regulations and legislation and the collective agreement and recommend changes or modifications to existing policies and programs to align with talent management best practices.
  • Maintain a commitment to employee equity, diversity and inclusion, and will ensure that these principles are embedded throughout the work performed within the role.
  • Work collaboratively with management to identify the institutional and positional needs and develop a talent management strategy.
  • Assess, review and enhance the institution's recruitment, selection and onboarding policies and procedures.
  • Identify recruitment campaigns that align with MITT's business objectives and markets MITT as an Employer of Choice, including attending recruitment events, job fairs, and other related events.
  • Provide fullcycle recruitment including sourcing, screening and evaluating new talent.
  • Collaborate with Managers and ensure that job descriptions are provided and uptodate for new positions being hired and that the roles are clearly defined.
  • Conduct job evaluations to determine proper job grade levels for existing and newly created positions and maintains an inventory of all positions and job grades.
  • Conduct both internal and external compensation analyses and provide recommendations to maintain market competitiveness.
  • Maintain all salary band information and updates related to grade changes, general salary increases and market adjustments.
  • Oversee that employee personnel and recruitment files are being maintained.
  • Develop and deliver the orientation for newly hired staff.
  • As required, review, update, revise and create employment letters that ensures compliance with legislation and has language that is legally sound.

Required Qualifications and Experience:


  • A combination of related education and experience may be considered._
  • A postsecondary education in Human Resource Management, Business Administration or a related field.
  • RPR (Registered Professional Recruiter) designation is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years' work experience in human resources.
  • Experience and knowledge in facilitating best practices talent management strategies.
  • Indepth knowledge of legislation and regulation governing human resource management in Manitoba.
  • Proficiency with computer and communication technology and software, including MS Office products, ADP or relevant HRIS/payroll systems, and applicant tracking systems.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience:


  • Experience administering group benefits plans to diverse employee groups.

  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record check including vulnerable sector and Child Abuse Registry Check.
