In this position, our Chef will be responsible for the daily operations of the kitchen.
Duties include but are not limited to:
- Prepare meals and snacks on the menu from start to finish
- Following the set nutritional menu to ensure items are prepared to meet the nutrition guidelines
- Meeting allergy and dietary requirements and accommodation
- Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment.
- Order groceries and supplies
- Maintaining a clean kitchen and understand current disinfecting practices
- Know and practice proper hand washing procedures
- Follow all safety protocols
You will posses the following:
- Able to work independently in a kitchen setting
- Strong advocate of nutrition
- Demonstrate sounded knowledge of proper food handling procedures
- Ability to prepare and cook large volume for up to 150 children on a daily basis
- Ability to handle food allergies and food substitution
- Ability to wash, peel, cut, slice of ingredients
- Ability to sweep and mop areas
- Team player, organized, flexible
- Current criminal record check, including vulnerable sector search
- 1 Years + commercial cooking experience in a high volume kitchen environment
- Food Safety Certificate is required
- First Aid Certificate preferred
