Reporting to the Site Lead, the Scheduler/Receptionist is responsible for providing reception duties for the site and working within established staff scheduling processes to schedule staff at the facility.
The incumbent maintains an effective professional relationship with multiple stakeholders including staff, support services staff, family physicians, visiting professional staff, residents, families, volunteers and visitors.
The Scheduler/Receptionist acts as a role model and ambassador for the Mission and Values of LeeCaring Communities.Areas of Responsibility
- Works within established staff scheduling processes to complete complex and often urgent scheduling within short timelines.
- Adapts to frequent interruptions and shifting priorities while ensuring staff are scheduled appropriately and in accordance with site policies and procedures and collective agreement requirements.
- Anticipates staffing needs and informs the Site Leader and Clinical Leads of shifts unable to be filled internally.
- In a friendly and pleasant manner, welcomes, greets and assists people including residents, family members, volunteers, health professionals and other visitors accessing the facility.
- Answers the telephone, screens calls, responds to routine inquiries, directs calls to appropriate staff, and relays clear and concise messages in a positive and professional manner.
Formal Education and Experiences:
- High School Diploma
- Completion of a medical secretarial or office administration course from a recognized program is an asset
- Oral and written proficiency in the English language.
- Oneyear experience with scheduling within a healthcare environment.
- Experience in working with unionized groups and in dealing with multiple collective agreement scheduling requirements and pay codes

- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.

- Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times.

All employees are required to provide a criminal record check that includes a Vulnerable Sector check.

Monday - Friday H
Salary:
$21.07-$25.37 per hour
Schedule:
- Day shift
- Monday to Friday
