The Role
The APM is a core member of ngx's animation team. They work closely with The Head of Animation and ngx's Production Director to plan for upcoming work.

The role requires a solid grasp of both 3D and 2D animation pipelines, and the ability to forecast the human and financial resources required to deliver high quality outputs on time, and on budget.

This includes the allocation of internal team members, as well as the identification, recruitment, and contracting of freelancers.


The APM will

  • Work closely with the Director of Production, Animation Leads, and Project Managers to create and manage production plans for ngx's animated productions.
  • Accurately forecast the human and financial resources required to complete a wide range of productions in 2D and 3D.
  • Collaborate with the software development team when technical art and software performance are significant factors in project success i.e. for interactive experiences that feature animation and are developed using game engines.
  • Produce informed estimates and work back plans based on available scope documentation.
  • Identify, recruit, screen, and hire full time employees and freelancers for the animation team.
  • Foster a supportive, collaborative, and solution oriented approach to production planning and management.
  • Create a weekly review of production status in the animation department.

Prerequisite Skills and Experience

Qualifications:


  • 2+ years experience in animation or VFX production or equivalent
  • A solid working understanding of animation production pipelines.
  • Understanding of how animation fits into the interactive production process is a bonus.
  • This includes familiarity with disciplines involved in endtoend digital experience production, including concept art, motion graphic design, technical art, 3D modeling and rigging, lighting, textures, environments etc.
  • Fluency creating workback schedules and budgets.
  • Experience recruiting and managing artists.
  • Excellent organizational skills and a commitment to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in uncertain circumstances.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Commitment to a collaborative and positive working environment.
  • Fluency with modern project and production management tools.
  • Experience with Shotgrid is an asset
