Job Description:
The Health Promotion & Injury Prevention Initiatives Specialist coordinates data collection for the Canadian Hospitals Injury Reporting and Prevention Program (CHIRPP), and collects, completes and submits these data to the Public Health Agency of Canada.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
- Gather, complete, deidentify and submit electronic CHIRPP forms to the Public Health Agency of Canada
- Monitor and evaluate data collection process
- Identify trends, potential problems with data collection and develop solutions
- Train clerical staff and volunteers to recruit study participants
- Work with team members to develop appropriate strategies and materials to promote participation in CHIRPP
- Liaise with the Public Health Agency of Canada and other CHIRPP centres across Canada concerning CHIRPP policy, procedures, administration and data requests
- Provide CHIRPP data and appropriate analysis on request
- Collaborate with CHEO data technician/analyst colleagues and health promotion team members to prepare data reports on request
- Maintain CHEO CHIRPP policy and procedure manual
- Attend team meetings
QUALIFICATIONS
- Police Record Check (PRC) (Essential)
- Graduate from a recognized Health Record Technician Program or equivalent work
- Demonstrated experience in health, health promotion or injury prevention fields (preferred)
- Demonstrated experience working with and processing health data (preferred)
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision, as well as part of a team (Essential)
- Highly dependable, excellent judgement (Essential)
- Strong interpersonal, organizational and problem solving skills (Essential)
- Knowledge of E-CHIRPP process, and CHIRPP dataset (preferred)
- Statistical knowledge (preferred)
- Bilingualism (French/English) (preferred)
- Completion of Canadian Injury Prevention and Control Curriculum (preferred)
- Knowledge of Trauma scoring systems and ICD coding (preferred)

Le ou la titulaire coordonne la collection des données pour le Système canadien hospitalier d'information et de recherche en prévention des traumatismes (SCHIRPT).
DESCRIPTION DU TRAVAIL
- Recueillir, remplir et remettre les formulaires électroniques du SCHIRPT à l'Agence de santé publique du Canada.
- Surveiller et évaluer le processus de collecte des données.
- Identifier les tendances, les problèmes potentiels de collecte de données et élaborer des solutions.
- Former le personnel de soutien et les bénévoles au recrutement des participants à l'étude.
- Collaborer avec les membres de l'équipe à l'élaboration de stratégies appropriées et de matériels pour promouvoir la participation à SCHIRPT.
- Assurer la liaison avec l'Agence de santé publique du Canada et d'autres centres SCHIRPT au Canada au sujet des politiques, des processus, de l'administration et des demandes de données du SCHIRPT.
- Analyser les données du SCHIRPT et les fournir sur demande.
- Collaborer, avec les analystes et techniciens du CHEO ainsi qu'avec les membres de l'équipe de promotion de la santé_,_ à la préparation de rapports de présentation de données lorsque nécessaire.
- Tenir à jour le manuel des politiques et des processus du SCHIRPT du CHEO.
- Assister aux réunions d'équipe.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Vérification du casier judiciaire (Essentiel)
- Diplôme d'un programme reconnu de technicien/technicienne de dossiers médicaux, ou expérience et formation équivalentes (Essentiel)
