Eton College is located at 333 Terminal Ave in Vancouver, B.C.

We are currently looking for an Office Manager and Student Services Officer for our expanding location.


The role of Office Manager and Student Services Officer is a customer-service role that represents the first point of contact for students, staff and visitors, assisting with all aspects of administrative support for school programmes. The role will encompass Front Desk, Financial Aid, Practicum and Co‐op placements.

Office Manager - Main Job Tasks, Duties and Responsibilities
- answer telephone, screen and direct calls
- take and relay messages
- provide information to callers
- greet persons entering organization
- direct persons to correct destination
- deal with queries from the public and customers
- ensure knowledge of staff movements in and out of organization
- monitor visitor access and maintain security awareness
- provide general administrative and clerical support
- prepare correspondence and documents
- receive and sort mail and deliveries
- schedule appointments
- maintain appointment diary either manually or electronically
- organize conference and meeting room bookings
- co-ordinate meetings and organize catering
- monitor and maintain office equipment
- control inventory relevant to reception area
- tidy and maintain the reception area


Financial Aid
Provide counselling and advice to students regarding student services planning for post
- secondary including student financial assistance and award program options:

  • Conduct student financial need assessments, review student financial assistance options and determine eligibility for financial assistance programs.
  • Provide information, instruction and advice to students regarding student financial assistance programs.
  • Develop programming and awareness among government student loan recipients regarding minimum course load, the impact of withdrawal from studies, unsuccessful studies, student loan default, appeals, reassessments and other matters related to student eligibility for government financial assistance.
  • Develop and deliver clientfocused programs and services, including workshops and special events (i.e., financial planning for postsecondary, eligibility for financial assistance and award programs, student loan repayment, and debt management).

Practicum / Co‐op Education

  • Will interview the student to assess the student's suitability for specific types of roles within the industry related to their program of study and orient them to the placement process.
  • The coordinator and the student work together to prepare all employment documentation.
  • The coordinator will begin to arrange an interview with the most suitable employer and liaise with the student and prospective employer.
  • The student will attend the interview as scheduled and confirm that an offer of employment is brought forward. If no offer is forthcoming, another interview will be arranged. The process is repeated until an offer is secured.
  • The coordinator confirms that a host agreement is in place with the employer and that the employer is aware of their obligations.
  • The student begins their work term and reports as required on a monthly basis.
  • Upon completion of the work term, the student submits their full report and the employer submits their evaluation of the student's performance.

Hours:
Monday - Friday

8:30 am - 5:30 pm


Salary:
$17/hour
