Description

Position Description:


  • Complete market compensation surveys, including research and recommendations on compensation data sources, analysis of market data including economic indicators and external trends, and prepare presentation material
  • Conduct indepth quantitative analysis on existing compensation programs including position to market for salary structure, base pay and incentive pay, post compensation cycle analysis and pay equity
  • Manage annual compensation process for salaried employees including review and management of file access, budget allocation, preparation of detailed excel compensation planning worksheets, identification and resolution of anomalies, creation of versions of compensation letters to address different employee compensation situations
  • Lead technical analysis in compensation related projects including but not limited to modeling and benchmarking new salary structure, conducting impact analysis at the employee level, assessing cost and preparing recommendations
  • Prepare, develop and assist with ad hoc reports and projects as a member of Total Rewards Team
  • Work with members of Total Rewards to help identify and create tracking/reporting protocols for key metrics
  • Support presentations to senior leaders
  • Serve as back up to team members, including payroll processing

Required Qualifications:


  • University Degree in Business or HR discipline
  • Minimum of 35 years HR experience
  • Ability to deal with confidential information with a high degree of diplomacy
  • Customer service focused with a demonstrated ability to analyze and solve problems
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail
  • Strong, agile team player capable of performing in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Proven analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Advanced MS Office skills, including MS Excel (formulas, macros, pivot tables)

Preferred Qualifications:


  • Union experience would be considered an asset
  • Unionized workforce (collective bargaining experience)
  • Good level of critical thinking experience
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Certified Employee Compensation Specialist


It is a requirement that General Dynamics Land Systems-Canada be registered with the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and that all of its workforce be security assessed.

As such, successful applicants must meet all applicable security requirements, including, but not limited to, the ability to obtain and maintain a Canadian government security clearance to secret level.
