Full-Time Indeterminate Position
Operation Group

About Us
SNOLAB is an international facility for world-class underground physics research and
has an expanding programme in astroparticle physics and underground science.
Located in an air-conditioned clean room 2 km underground in the Vale Creighton
Mine near Sudbury Ontario, with a suite of surface facilities and laboratories, SNOLAB
is currently preparing for the next generation of experiments focusing on neutrino
studies and the search for galactic dark matter.

The Position
This position is primarily responsible for providing wide-range support for operations,

Provide general support for operations in all areas.
Perform routine light maintenance of laboratory systems. Assist in operation of

basic systems.

Follow established procedures with due care. Refine and revise existing

procedures.

Provide support for scientists.
Accurate data taking, including reading, and recording flow meters, gauges and

recording instruments to measure process variables.

Measure, mix and utilize chemicals. Handle Liquid Nitrogen (LN2) and bottled

gases. Inspect and/or assemble system components.

Collect and test process samples for chemical properties. Complete and maintain

log sheets and databases.

Assist in cleaning (e.g. carwash cleaning of supplies and components, ultrasonic

cleaning, blitz area cleaning, clear coating, painting).

Criteria

Education:

Post secondary degree/diploma in a relevant field

Experience:

1year relevant work experience.
Knowledge of safe working techniques and practices
Effective oral and written communication skills
Ability to follow instructions and work independently
Proficient computer skills

Salary Range
Salary will be determined by qualifications and experience which includes an attractive
benefits package. This position is part of United Steelworkers Local 2020.
