About Us

SNOLAB is a renowned international facility dedicated to cutting-edge underground physics research. Situated 2 km underground in the Vale Creighton Mine near Sudbury Ontario, SNOLAB specializes in astroparticle physics and underground science. Currently, the facility is gearing up for the next wave of experiments focusing on neutrino studies and the exploration of galactic dark matter.



The Position

This role is all about maintaining cleanliness and functionality in the lab environment. Responsibilities include:

  • Thorough cleaning of cleanroom laboratories, even at elevated heights.
  • Handling laundry, trash removal, and overall lab upkeep.
  • Performing light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs, painting, and assisting tradespeople.
  • Sanitizing various surfaces as needed.
  • Being available for shift work, including evenings and overnight shifts.
  • Operating equipment to vacuum, mop, and scrub floors and stairs.
  • Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from the SNOLAB site.

The job may involve physical tasks like lifting, carrying, and arranging items while standing, stooping, crawling, and kneeling. Additionally, maintaining proper administrative records for lab articles is essential.



Criteria

Education: Not specified

Experience: A minimum of 6 months of experience in commercial/institutional building cleaning preferred. Desirable experience includes at least 6 months in light maintenance.



Salary Range

The salary for this role will be commensurate with qualifications and experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package. This position falls under United Steelworkers Local 2020.
