Here's the job opportunity

The Business Systems Analyst will:

  • Develop business requirement documentation, system design specification, use cases, mockup web screen designs and workflow diagrams. Organize information gathered from multiple sources, and present information in a manner that business stakeholders can review and approve.
  • Conduct required analysis to arrive at solutions through use of JAD sessions and/or related research gathering processes.
  • Engage in the development and execution of testing plans, test scenarios and test cases.
  • Work with web developers to ensure adequate tracking on key website features, provide web analytics dashboards on website engagement & performance, and identify key insights & opportunities for website enhancements.
  • Contribute to the overall analysis, scoping, estimating and planning for projects.

What we are looking for

  • Postsecondary education in Information Technology, Business Administration, or equivalent work experience.
  • 2+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst or equivalent.
  • Knowledge in Canadian Life insurance sector. LOMA certification is an asset.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of management, business, IT and vendor resources.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problemsolving skills.
  • Fundamental knowledge of website structure, design, web analytics and web accessibility.
  • Experience with SQL, HTML, XML and JSON.
  • General understanding of the best practices involved with userexperience (UX) design
  • Knowledgeable in data driven analysis or data mapping or design flow practices.
  • Ability to facilitate business meetings and JAD sessions at all levels of the organization.
  • Sound knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle (Agile and Waterfall).
  • Good ability to work independently and collaboratively in larger groups.
  • Ability to create clear documentation and explain complex process flows.
  • Ability to create work breakdown structures and estimations.
