This position supports the delivery of all Human Resources services and strategies within the assigned business unit(s). The HRBP maintains an effective level of business literacy about the business unit.

This role supports and coaches managers in fostering a thriving team environment, driving talent management initiatives, helping build management and leadership capabilities, and engaging in organization and change initiatives.

Each HRBP aligns with a specific business unit and also provides company-wide leadership and oversight of an HR specialty area such as performance management, talent acquisition, retention and engagement, diversity, organizational development or total compensation.

The HRBP will build and maintain relationships and work closely and accurately within established guidelines.

This role oversees and implements assigned human resources programs and practices that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness that align with business strategies in areas including talent management, compensation, learning and development, and performance management.


Responsibilities:


  • Gain a deep understanding of the business and work proactively with managers on workforce challenges and strategy, aligning talent priorities with business objectives to transform, and scale the organization.
  • Assess organizational development needs and provide partnership and support in the areas of organizational effectiveness, organizational design, and change management.
  • Act as the HR manager for the assigned business unit(s) and provide daytoday HR management, direction and coaching for the entire employeelife cycle.
  • Coach and provide direction to managers to enhance employee performance, goal setting, accountability, skill development, team building, communication, recruitment and retention, etc.
  • Collaborate with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues.
  • Attend weekly business unit/team meetings and manager meetings with assigned business unit(s) to remain aware of needs, challenges, goals and objectives.
  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, department and team design, workforce planning and succession planning.
  • Support the implementation of HR programs, processes, policies, and initiatives to support the growth of the business.
  • Create and maintain succession planning and people development plans for the assigned business unit(s).
  • Monitor compensation and benefits within the assigned business unit(s).
  • Remain aware of potential staff issues, concerns or complaints which could potentially require an assessment or investigation. Promptly assess and document verbal or written complaints, assess against policies and practices, determine next steps. Conduct investigations as required. Ensure that the head of HR is aware of all potential issues, trends and complaints in advance of requiring an assessment or investigation.
  • Support the efficient and effective delivery of employee onboarding and offboarding tasks for assigned business unit(s).
  • Conduct exit interviews and provide feedback to management.
  • Identifies training needs for business units and collaborates with the Training team to initiate training and skills development. Participates in evaluation and monitoring of training programs to ensure successful skill transfer and improved performance. Follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Ensure that accurate job descriptions are in place for all staff in assigned business unit(s).
  • Ensure all peoplerelated practices follow applicable employment legislation in Canada and the USA. Maintain knowledge of emerging employmentrelated legislation across Canada and the USA.
  • Create and update HR policies as required.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs and policies.

Requirements:


  • A degree or diploma in a related discipline (HR, business administration) combined with a minimum of 7 years of progressive HR work experience in a generalist or HR management capacity.
  • Exceptional technical skills are essential as we utilize a wide range of cloudbased tools for collaboration. Proficient with Excel and have previous experience
