Responsibilities:

What your days look like as a Junior Project Manager:

Ensure projects are executed in accordance with contracts, plans and specifications.
Ensure projects meet or exceed safety, cost, productivity, schedule, profitability and quality assurance and control objectives.
Ensure ongoing cost control, management and forecasting of projects.
Review and approve required project administration and documentation.
Manage contractual agreements for projects to ensure they are reviewed, processed and executed.
Prepare and collect progress invoices and holdbacks in a timely manner.
Manage subcontractors and suppliers.
Communicate with the client during project execution and develop and maintain client relationships.
Negotiate contract terms, change management and claims.
Provide safety leadership by ensuring that all company, client and legally mandated safety policies and procedures are met or exceeded.
Ensure that all necessary project safety provisions and procedures are implemented on each project.

Qualifications:

To succeed as a Junior Project Manager you must have:

Undergraduate degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering or Environmental Science, Business or related discipline is an asset.
Proficient computer skills (MS Office & MS Project at a minimum).
Minimum of five (5) years or work experience, including three (3) years of project management experience related to Demolition, Environmental Remediation/Reclamation, Hazardous Waste Management is an asset.
Work and/or travel in varied terrains, weather conditions, isolated locations and by various means of transportation.
Solid communication and customer service skills.
