This senior role contributes to this mission using its analysis, development, storytelling, business analyst and statistician skills.


As a Business Intelligence Consultant, you will autonomously lead medium sized projects and tasks of large complexity and size, as well as to provide coaching and support to other team members.

You will support the development and maintenance of the Lost Cost tool providing data for our Actuarial pricing teams.

As a partner of the Sovereign insurance organisation, you will get to influence decisions by providing analytics to a large portfolio of commercial risks.


How you will create impact:


  • Extract data as required for project analysis or analysis of our book of business using BI tools or programming language (SQL, R, MicroStrategy).
  • Compile and present insightful stories to explain broad business insights that create value for our business partners and the organization's leaders
  • Document detailed business requirements including data, security, Dashboards, Visual Insight and Self Service reporting requirements.
  • Construct, test, reconcile and document BI solutions.
  • Advanced and efficient in using programming language and BI tools.
  • Train and support our business users on our analytic solutions.

To join our team:


  • You have 7 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence or other relevant domain.
  • You have a University Degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or equivalent technical experience.
  • You have experience writting complex SQL stored procedures.
  • You have knowledge of a database structure and advanced capabilities in data analysis.
  • Experience with database architecture is an asset.
  • Experience in Property and Casualty insurance is an asset.
  • Knowledge of actuarial concepts is an asset.
