BGC Dovercourt is looking for a Childcare Supervisor:
Kids Korner Daycare Centre is operated by the non-for-profit Dovercourt Boys and Girls Club. The Centre, licensed by the Ontario Ministry of Education has a Purchase of Services' Agreement with the City of Toronto Children's Services. The Centre is staffed with qualified Registered Early Childhood Educators. All staff members are knowledgeable about the Child Care and Early Years Act. Children between the ages of 2.5 and 12 years old receive care and nurturing in an enriched learning environment that is in compliance and meets all legislative requirements.

Responsibilities:
- Perform all duties necessary to ensure the safety and welfare of each child, including retaining 100% compliance for Ministry of Education licensing, Toronto Public Health inspection and Children's Services AQI
- Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise and manage qualified staff (ECEs and ECAs)
- Manage waiting list and enroll children when spaces become available
- Oversee daytoday operations in Daycare facilities
- Plan and implement suitable programs which ensure high quality care and meets the needs of all
- Develop and implement interesting and imaginative childcentered activities for the needs of
- Maintain close communication with staff on the development and progress of each child
- Ability to use child care theories and best practices to plan, implement and assess
- Create an enriching and nurturing learning environment for children
Skills:
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Budget development, financial and organization management are important assets Computer knowledge including Excel, Word, CCLS, and the Children's Services website
- Proven leadership, conflict resolution and motivational skills Ability to effectively work collaboratively and independently
- Minimum
Qualifications:
- Minimum
- MUST have a RECE Designation and be in good standing with the College of Early Childhood
- Educators
- Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certificate
- All necessary uptodate immunizations (or able to obtain a notarized Statement of Conscience
- Experience dealing with Toronto Children's Services
- Vulnerable Sector Police Check (current within 6 months, or willing to obtain)
- Working knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act, How Does Learning Happen?, and
- Child Care Licensing Manual
- Working knowledge of the City of Toronto AQI assessment tool and Every Child Belongs
- Basic accounting knowledge would be an asset
- Working knowledge of Toronto Public Health Guidance Document
- Valid Ontario's Drivers Licence and access to a car considered an asset
