Materials Management Student 4 Month Term - Winnipeg, Canada - MacDon Industries Ltd.
Description
PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Conduct cycle counts and adjustments to correct any discrepancies in inventory levels. Assist with the set-up of material flow through the yard and the development of processes. Assist with the movement of inventory between warehouses to support critical builds.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following are the main job responsibilities and priorities for this position:
- Conduct cycle counts to compare physical inventory to system inventory
- Read and interpret prints to identify parts
- Conduct inventory adjustments using DSI guns
- Keep diligent records of inventory, including inventory transfers and transactions
- Create work instructions and procedures
- Compile data to generate reports using EXCEL and other tools
- Review and navigate various reports
- Assist receiving with delivery issues such as quantity discrepancies and missing paperwork
- Load, unload, and deliver parts between vendors & other MacDon warehouse locations
- Other duties as assigned by the Materials Superintendent
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience
- Enrolled in Postsecondary Education
Skills and Knowledge
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment is an asset
- Diligent and able to multitask a variable workload and prioritize responsibilities
- A desire for continuous improvement
- Experienced in Microsoft office products
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills
- Valid Class 5 drivers license
- Strong sense of urgency and commitment to get the job done
