We are seeking an experienced human resources professional to join our team as Human Resources Business Partner.


We are a virtual organization and as a remote worker you must be comfortable and able to work 100 per cent of the time from a home office in Canada.

To be successful as a remote worker you need to have a self-starter attitude, possess strong organizational and time management skills, and be a proactive communicator.

Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working/business hours is a requirement of this role.


About the Role

  • Build relationships with key stakeholders to act as a trusted advisor to deliver proactive and valueadded generalist HR services to management and employees that reflect the business priorities of CBoC.
  • Coach and mentor managers and employees, as well as provide advice regarding return to work, performance issue management, terminations, etc. Conduct investigations, as required, taking into account best practice and legislative requirements.

Prepare related documentation:
disciplinary letters, PIP, termination letter and release, severance calculation.

  • Lead project delivery and change management related to new/revised HR programs and policies, including Onboarding, Career Paths, technology implementation, etc.
  • Support assigned Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members and proactively schedule regular meetings with SLT members to discuss people, training needs, support etc.
  • Collaborate with CPO to establish HR strategy and priorities aligned with overall CBoC strategy
  • Manage Benefits plan design, annual renewal, vendor management, internal communications and promotion, streamlined processes, disability case management and return to work processes.
  • Partner with managers/leaders to facilitate annual compensation planning and review process
  • In partnership with the Manager, Talent, lead, coach and develop HR Coordinator
  • Lead regular talent review discussions with assigned SLT members
  • Manage biannual engagement survey process with external vendor, including communications, internal focus groups and related action plan.
  • Oversee Federal Contractors Program data and reporting requirements.
  • Analyze data to develop insights, recommendations and solutions to strategic people or organizational issues.
  • Support the development of leadership capability through management tools and program design/implementation.
  • Remain current on employment legislation and regularly review CBoC policies to ensure compliant.
  • Commitment to producing high quality work and demonstrating professional values in all aspects of work and interactions with colleagues and customers.

About You

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of HR Business Partner or Generalist experience, including resolving complex employee relations issues.
  • A Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration or similar discipline.
  • Experience influencing and advising senior leadership on talent and employment matters.
  • Experience with interpreting Employment Standards, ideally across Canada.
  • Experience with core HR domains, including performance management, benefits and disability claims, talent management, compensation, and employee relations.
  • Experience with people data analytics; ability to influence with data.
  • Ability to prioritize workload and selfmanage projects; demonstrates initiative and manages multiple, competing priorities.
  • Experience using BambooHR or similar HR management systems.
  • Having a home office environment that provides for a productive, professional, and safe work environment during regular working hours is a requirement of this role. This includes internet service and a reliable connection.
