TERM:1.0 FTE (37.5 hours per week).
Hybrid model. Permanent position.


SALARY:
$26.00/hour - $31.00/hour, commensurate with skills and experience

CHEO Research Institute ("CHEO RI") is the research arm of CHEO (a regional pediatric health and teaching centre serving Easter Ontario, Western Québec, and Nunavut) and an affiliated institute of the University of

The Office of Research Services ("ORS") has an immediate opening for an experienced Grants and Awards
Ottawa, and local, national, and international collaborators.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
Under the general supervision of the Manager of Grants and Awards, the Grants and Awards Coordinator will:

  • Advise regarding appropriate funding agency policies and reporting requirements related to grants and awards.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and oversee reporting for funded internal grants and awards.
  • Assist with the recruitment of the CHEO RI internal grant and award competition adjudication review committee members; Recruit reviewers, setup review panels, collect reviewer feedback, create, and distribute award letters.
  • Liaise with funding agencies, researchers, review committee, committee chair and ORS.
  • Maintain funding records, and prepare scheduled and special reports, studies, and analyses.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree with research experience or minimum of 3 years of experience in the (Essential) administration of grants and awards.
  • Familiarity with the health research funding environment and grant agency guidelines. (Essential)
  • Experience working with large research teams and multidisciplinary projects. (preferred)
  • Strong conceptual and critical thinking skills. (Essential)
  • Experience in fostering effective communication within and among groups (preferred)
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills (Essential)
  • Very strong editorial and documentation skills (Essential)
  • Outstanding organizational, accountability and timemanagement skills. (Essential)
  • Excellent interpersonnel skills, and ability to work effectively independently and in a team (Essential) environment.
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset. (preferred)

  • Able to handle a heavy work volume in a busy work environment, while managing competing priorities.
  • Able to be flexible with working hours to meet tight deadlines.
  • Able to work independently with mínimal supervision.

  • Able to work in a hybrid work model.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Eligible to work in Canada; and
  • Compliance with CHEO RI's Universal COVID19 Vaccination Policy; and
  • Police Record Check.
