The Corporate Financial and Facilities Services Branch (CFFS) provides a broad range of services to the Ministry of Finance, Office of the Premier and other organizations such as the Office of the Conflict of Interest Commissioner and all ministers' offices.


Our mission is to provide expert financial, administrative and business advisory, facilities and support services that enhance our clients' current and future performance.


The Procurement Services Unit is responsible for providing a variety of consultation and advisory services under the procurement umbrella to all ministry clients and entities under the Ministry of Finance, including pre-approval documentation guidance, and support through all six phases of the procurement life cycle: planning, solicitation, evaluation, contract, contract management, and close-out.


The unit is also responsible for the development of monthly and quarterly pro-active disclosures, contractual obligation reporting, and acts as a central point of contact for all procurement related audits conducted by the Office of the Comptroller General or Auditor General.

All procurement is expected to uphold government commitments to open, fair and competitive processes and accountability.

The Procurement Specialist is a specialized position with comprehensive knowledge of procurement practices in the provincial government.

This position supports the Ministry of Finance and supported entities through the procurement planning stages and is responsible to ensure compliance with standards and policy; identify risk and develop strategies for treatment; provide advice, decision support and policy interpretation.


Job Requirements:


  • Certification or diploma in business administration, procurement/contract management, financial management or equivalent.
  • Three to five years of experience in progressively more financial or administration positions with experience generating financial materials (ex. financial reports or spreadsheets), analyzing information, providing recommendations, and/or reviewing or administering contracts.
  • Experience in the full procurement life cycle for routine acquisitions.
  • Experience working in the Province's corporate financial systems (e.g. CAS Oracle Financials, Discoverer or WFR reporting).
  • Experience working with Information Technology (IT) contracts may be preferred.
