Position Overview


Sherwood Park Manor is launching a capital campaign to raise more than $5 million from the public, with the goal of updating and expanding our centre to better meet the evolving needs of our residents.

If you are an experienced, professional fundraiser who is passionate about helping seniors and their families and are interested in growing Sherwood Park Manor's mandate in the community, we encourage you to explore this opportunity to join us as a Campaign Coordinator.

The Campaign Coordinator will lead the planning, strategy and oversight of all fundraising activities related to the campaign.

Working closely with the Board of Directors and key campaign stakeholders, the Campaign Coordinator will ensure that all fund development strategies are successfully executed, enabling Sherwood Park Manor to fund the much-needed update and expansion of our facilities.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:


  • Work with the Board Chair and Administrator to develop the capital campaign strategy, set campaign goals, identify prospects and prepare proposals and stewardship reports
  • Establish solicitation priorities, manage prospect lists, develop and execute targeted cultivation plans and solicitation strategies
  • Identify and steward major donors and plan and execute cultivation events
  • Manage the writing and development of capital campaign print and electronic materials and coordinate their design and production
  • Manage the capital campaign fundraising budget in conjunction with the Administrator
  • Plan and attend various ongoing build/campaign committee meetings
  • Prepare periodic reports on fundraising, presenting updates to the Board and senior staff, recommending revisions to the fundraising plan, as needed, to meet goals
  • Identify prospects on the individual, corporation, foundation and major gift levels
  • Manage the grants process with the Administrator
  • Coordinate publicity and media as required
  • Manage donor recognition and stewardship
  • Other duties as assigned

Skills and Knowledge:


  • Postsecondary education in a related field and / or a combination of three to five years of related experience.
  • Demonstrated achievement in donor relations and communication, and soliciting and closing major gifts.
  • Superior written and verbal communications skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and manage multiple priorities concurrently
  • Strong ability to build relationships with external and internal stakeholders
  • Motivated, well organized, and a creative problem solver
  • Independent and selfdirected
  • Demonstrated supervisory experience
  • Advanced skills in MS Office Suite (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint)
  • Open availability to work days, evenings and weekends

Assets

  • Knowledge and experience working with donor databases
  • Experience in a virtual work setting
  • Reside in or be familiar with the Brockville area
  • Experience raising funds in a small community environment
