    Description

    Lake Shore Gold is located in Timmins, Ontario, a vibrant communityof 45,000 residents that is a central hub for Northeastern Ontario. In Timmins,people can enjoy recreational activities such as camping, world class fishing,nature, and snowmobile trails. Direct flights to Toronto are available atthe local airport via multiple carriers. There are many support networksin the community including the local Timmins and District Hospital, localsports leagues for children and adults (hockey, baseball, basketball, etc.),golf courses, both cross country and downhill ski resorts, a community pool,and many other community events that provide entertainment throughout the year(fairs, carnivals, concerts, etc.).

    The Bell Creek Complex, locatedapproximately 20 kilometers northeast of Timmins, Ontario, consists of anunderground mine and processing facility. Mineralization is associated with thePorcupine-Destor fault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt, with oremined by narrow vein longhole stoping methods.Ore is then transported to surface via a newly commissioned one thousandeighty metre deep shaft at a mining rate of twenty five hundred tonnes per day.

    The Timmins West mine is locatedapproximately 18 kilometres west of Timmins, Ontario, one of the world's mostprolific gold camps. Mineralization is associated with the Porcupine-Destorfault system within the Abitibi greenstone belt. The Timmins West mine iscomprised of the Timmins deposit, the Thunder Creek deposit, and the 144 Gapdeposit. All three deposits are interconnected by underground drifts.

    We are currently recruiting for: Development Miners

    Job Description

    In this position, you will be proficient in the use of single and/or multiple boom jumbo operation. You will be responsible to lead a 2 man crew in a development heading, extending grade and center line; marking the face for drilling and circling bootlegs; maintaining hanging wall and foot wall control in conjunction with the site Geologist; while ensuring proper policies and procedures are being followed. You must be capable of operating a jackleg and/or stopper. You will be knowledgeable in all aspects of mining operations such as Drift, Ramp, and Construction mining. You will be a self-motivated individual with excellent leadership and communication skills. You will have experience in mucking development rounds; loading trucks; Jumbo drill experience; bolting with Jackleg and/or Stoper; assisting with prepping the face for drilling; installing services in development headings and loading rounds.

    Location: Timmins West Mine – Timmins, ON / Bell Creek Mine - Porcupine, ON
    5-5-4 rotation; 10-hour shifts

    Qualifications

    • Five to 10 years' related mining experience
    • Proven work experience in the safe operation of a Jumbo along with Specialty Common Core Modules
    • Be committed to safety
    • Basic UG Hard Rock Common Core
    • Applicants must be eligible to work in Canada
