Reporting to the Providence Healthcare Site Manager, Supply Chain and Logistics, the incumbent will work in various areas within the department to help support clinical and operational needs in the Hospital and Houses of Providence long term care home.

Areas include the Central Supply Room, Mail Room, General Stores and Receiving.


RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Receives goods and materials for the organization at the loading dock locations.
  • Assist delivery/courier drivers and maintains an excellent working relationship.
  • Ensure that the correct safety practices/procedures are followed when delivery vehicles are in the delivery driveways at the loading docks.
  • Proficient in the operation of an industrial electric pallet truck, dock lifter, and freight elevator.
  • Ensure that equipment is functioning properly by troubleshooting to correct problems.
  • Clean medical equipment and ensure proper tracking and functionality
  • Proficient in Lawson computer software program (receiving and inventory control modules) in order to track goods scanned, received and delivered.
  • Use handheld device to scan supplies on various units
  • Order picking and delivering
  • Maintain par levels, bar codes, bin locations in Lawson
  • Matches and assembles the goods and documentation for return of goods via appropriate courier to supplier.
  • Demonstrates safe handling practices for the organization and transportation of packages, mail satellite areas.
  • Communication with Procurement buyers, Accounts Payable clerks, vendors and end users.
  • Sort and deliver Mail
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and change course of duties based on operational needs
  • Understand and follow health & safety and standard operating procedures/policies
  • Complete mandatory online courses
  • Wear uniform and safety shoes where required
  • Continuous communication with team members for effective and efficient work flow
  • Provides exceptional customer service and demonstrates a professional manner in the work setting.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:


  • Current certification in the operation of an industrial electric pallet truck preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of recent experience in the operation of dock lift and pallet trucks preferred.
  • Minimum of 12 years of recent experience in a Logistics Department.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Lawson
  • Successful completion of a secondary school diploma required.
  • Successful completion of a postsecondary community college program in a related field preferred.
  • Demonstrated oral, written and English language reading skills required in order to effectively communicate and/or respond to customer inquiries
  • Basic mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) are required.
  • Welldeveloped organizational skills with the ability to work in a fastpaced environment.
  • Able to prioritize tasks appropriately within the various Supply Chain departments.
  • Proven commitment to Mission and Values of the organization, as well as successful completion of the mandatory employee learning modules.
  • Demonstrated excellent record of attendance and punctuality.
  • Excellent customer service skills with proven success in working in a team environment.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:


  • Ability to work for 2 hours and push or pull a cart weighing kg
  • Ability to work with gloves and other appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg.
  • Ability to stand for long periods (up to 4 hours)
