Description

Summary:

Participates in the assembling and shipping of outgoing merchandise or material. Prepares and maintains shipping records, makes up bills of lading, and posts weight and shipping charges. Verifies correctness of incoming shipments against bills of lading. Maintains records of goods received. Rejects damaged goods or materials and correspond with shipper to adjust damages or shortages. May route incoming goods to the proper department. Data entry of orders and applicable information into Forum's EAP system.

Assists with front office administrative tasks including but not limited to; answering and directing phone calls, data entry (Microsoft Office Suite), maintains and orders office supplies, participates and assists in the company HSE program as needed.

Maintains good housekeeping practices and other duties as assigned.


Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Data entry using Microsoft Office Suite and internal company systems
  • Maintain and order office supplies as required
  • Participate and assist in the company HSE program
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records
  • Determines method of shipment, utilizing knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons or stencils identifying shipping information on cartons, using stenciling equipment
  • Assembles wooden or cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers
  • Inserts items into containers, using spacers, fillers, and protective padding
  • Nails covers on wooden crates and binds containers with metal tape, using strapping machine
  • Stamps, stencils, or glues identifying information and shipping instructions onto crates or containers
  • Posts weights and shipping charges, and affixes postage
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages
  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure shipments meet specifications
  • Maintains inventory of shipping materials and supplies
  • Operate Forklift to move, convey, or hoist shipments from shippingandreceiving platform to storage or work area.
  • Communicate with staff the outgoing and receiving of incoming shipments
  • May receive damaged or defective goods returned to establishment
  • Assist with cycle counting as necessary
  • Puts inventory away in designated areas
  • Maintains good housekeeping practices
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills/Knowledge

  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite)
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Prior experience using an EAP system
  • Ability to change direction while maintaining organization
  • Capable of working independently as well as, in a team environment
  • Forklift certification preferred.

Education

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience, in a similar environment
  • 1+ years of experience with inventory preferred
  • 1+ years of Forklift experience preferred, but not required.
