- Coordinate and lead internal resources (Land Services, GIS, Land Administration and/or Planning & Permitting), set expectations and priorities, determine metrics, obtain deliverables and achieve milestones.
- Liaise directly with clients or Client Manager and provide reports, updates and solutions.
- Establish project messaging for stakeholders, including landowners and communities.
- Manage detailed tracking and communication of project progress from a task, time, schedule, and cost perspective.
- Ensure all client deliverables are completed and delivered on schedule.
- Review Record of Contacts (ROCs) for landowner, public agency and other stakeholder consultations.
- Identify and provide project details for tracking purposes.
- Identify project risks, establish solutions and escalate accordingly within Internal Management.
- Manage changes in project scopes, identifies solutions for potential issues and devises contingency plans as required, while engaging the appropriate resources.
- Identify change orders, generate necessary documentation and negotiate such change orders with the client.
- Lead resources on the negotiation and acquisition of right-of-way and other real property interests as necessary, to accommodate the construction, operation, and maintenance of assets after construction
- Coordinate and lead the development of project scopes, schedules, budgets, forecasts, deliverables and milestones related to the acquisition of real estate rights.
- Coordinate resources assigned to projects and provide program oversight, serving as liaison between resources and our Client's lines of business.
- Lead resources on the negotiation and acquisition of right-of-way and other real property interests as necessary, to accommodate the construction, operation, and maintenance of assets after construction.
- Continuously monitor and evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of service delivery methods and procedures and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Post-secondary degree in geography, geomatics, real estate, planning, project management or business.
- Minimum 5 years' professional services consulting experience, working with external clients.
- Minimum 5 years' professional experience managing working on transmission infrastructure projects.
- Experience in land acquisition, energy, real estate, permitting, project development and/or client facing/consulting on renewable and/or transmission line infrastructure projects
- Knowledge of Real Estate strategy gained through education and/or experience
- Professional experience with acquisition and management of property or right-of- way
- Knowledge of project management tools and techniques
- Able to coordinate several projects at the same time
- Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills
- Pertinent knowledge of Federal, Provincial, and local laws, codes and regulations.
- Clear, concise written and oral communications
- Knowledge of expense and accrual forecasts and planning for operating and capital budgets
- Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Access and Google Earth
- Project Manager certificate (PMP or equivalent) recommended

The Project Manager will be managing complex land acquisition projects where the scope of work includes negotiations for property acquisition, removal of encumbrances on title, and acquisition of easements for utility projects including transmission lines, oil and gas, and renewable energy developments.
The Project Manager will be responsible for ensuring deliverables are provided in conformance to Canacre's quality standards. The Project Manager will work with Canacre's Clients to support appropriate scoping and will be responsible for providing program oversight while managing, supervising and coordinating the activities of project teams and/or agents through all stages of the project.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in project management best practices (PMI or similar), with knowledge and experience in professional services consulting, and land acquisition for utility infrastructure projects. We are looking for someone who is an experienced project manager and consultant and who thrives in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
