Financial Controller Position

Summary
Midland Chrysler is expanding and actively seeking Financial Controller for the dealership.

The Dealership Financial Controller controls the financial affairs of the organization.

This position prepares financial statements with supporting schedules to assist the Owner / Managing Partner of the dealership and is responsible for monitoring the dealership's financial accounting practices.


Major Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Minimum of three years of automotive or related industry experience
  • University Degree preferred
  • Accounting designation is an asset
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and time management skills
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyze business process and maintain internal controls
  • Proficient with PBS system (is an asset); ability to operate PCbased software, e.g. Excel, Outlook, Word
  • Adhere to accounting policies, practices, standards, and controls of the dealership and oversee the maintenance of all books and records recording dealership assets, liabilities, ownership investments, and revenue and expense transactions
  • Manage monthend close process and timing. Prepare and review monthly trial balances, general ledger detail postings, financial statements and other financial reports and statistics. Distribute reviewed financial reports on a timely basis to management
  • Identify, investigate, and correct errors. Audit and resolve any anomalies encountered in daily financial transactions as recorded by others and ensure the accuracy of daily transfers of transactions
  • Control all documents, including time records, vehicle deals and commission vouchers
  • Direct all accounting functions to include credit and collections, Accounts Payable, payroll, fixed assets, general accounting, and cash management
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable governmental finance regulations, including filings and/or maintenance of required forms, property tax, sales tax filings, etc.
  • Develop monthly forecasting reports, financial models, budgets, and metrics
  • Recommend changes to continuously improve systems and financial performance.
