Maintenance Laborer - Red Deer, Canada - Cove Communities

_Red Deer Village (hiring immediately)_
Primarily responsible for maintaining the physical asset of the property and day-to-day operations under the direction of the Community Manager.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for the completion of all maintenance service requests as assigned
- Assist in monitoring all work being performed by outside contractors
- Responsible for 24hour emergency maintenance service as scheduled
- Carry pager/cell phone as required for oncall maintenance
- Perform minor building, plumbing, electrical, painting, and some carpentry repairs as necessary
- Complete grounds work as directed by Community Manager which may include picking up trash, sweeping curb and dumpster areas and maintaining landscaping beds and snow removal
- Responsible for alerting the Community Manager of any unusual occurrence and/or damage that have taken place or that may occur
- Maintain a professional courteous manner with all residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees
- Assure safety standards are used which comply with all company, local, City, and Federal guidelines
- Follow established company policies and those outlined in the Employee Handbook
Education & Experience
- High school diploma/GED required.
- Physically capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.
- Must have valid driver's license and provide driver's abstract.
- Knowledge of modular home maintenance an asset.
- Able to work in confined spaces (under units for winterization and plumbing issues)
- Experienced in operating a variety of equipment, including snow blowers, lawn mowers, and small hand tools.
- Must be proficient in English, both spoken and written.
- Strongly demonstrates ability to multitask in a fastpaced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Background check required.

Pay:
From $21.50 per hour

- Red Deer, AB T2P 2A6: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
