About the Opportunity:

The Booking Officer is responsible to ensure complete and accurate booking procedures for elective and urgent surgical patients.

In this clinical environment, duties include but are not limited to patient scheduling, maintaining confidential documentation, and producing excel spreadsheets and reports as required.

They will work in collaboration with surgeon's offices, anesthesia, preadmission clinics, and leadership staff to allow for optimal coordination of Operating Room/Endoscopy time.

The Booking Officer also provides administrative assistant support for the PARNS Access Manager and the Operating Room Manager.


About You:

We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

  • Grade XII
  • Graduate of a business, office information technology, medical office assistant, secretarial course or equivalent combination of education and related experience
  • Two (2) years related experience in Perioperative Services required
  • Medical terminology course or equivalent required
  • Previous booking experience with Central Booking is an asset
  • Demonstrated experience in report preparation
  • Experience with ORM and PARNS preferred
  • Ability to organize and prioritize duties
  • Annually access the training and education on patient, client and personal safety made available by NSH
  • Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred
