Description

Purpose:

Supports with oversight of projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion and within scope.

Plans and designates project resources, monitors progress, and keeps stakeholders informed the entire way, and is accountable for managing and supporting the development and coordination of all aspects of projects for the Office of Strategic Initiatives.


Education:

Post-secondary degree in Business Administration or a relevant field.


Experience:

Three (3) years experience in a related area, including experience working with stakeholders at various levels of an organization. Experience successfully managing multiple service implementation projects including project planning, timelines, milestones, issues/risks/dependencies. Experience with business transformation (process redesign and organizational change). Experience leading value stream mapping and other process improvement sessions and facilitating working and user groups.


Skills:

Knowledge
Strong knowledge and understanding of Project Management principles and best practices.
Strong knowledge and understanding of business needs with the ability to establish/maintain high level of stakeholder trust and confidence.
Knowledge of University programs, policies & structures an asset.
Understanding of complex issues related to DEDI an asset.


Skills:

Highly developed project management skills and the ability to manage multiple simultaneous projects using PM methodologies and frameworks.
Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of diverse audiences. Recognizes diversity of abilities and adapt content, tone, medium, and style to audience to be inclusive.
Strong presentation skills and ability to process, synthesize and present information/ recommendations/plans to a varied audience.
Proficient at developing quality reports, presentations, and deliverables.
Excellent analytical skills and initiative.
Ability to evaluate situations and make judgement calls on timely issue escalations.
Superior interpersonal, decision-making and organizational skills, able to effectively work with and influence senior administrative and academic leaders.

Technical skills:
MS Project, PowerPoint, Excel, Word, process mapping, statistical software, databases and CRM platforms. Lean, six sigma and agile would be an asset.
