Founded in 1971, Berk's Intertruck operates on Vancouver Island and has grown to become one of the most respected dealer groups in Canada representing Volvo Trucks, Isuzu Trucks, and Felling Trailers.

Berk's Intertruck is part of the Pacific Coast Heavy Truck Group.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the supervision, guidance and overall smooth operations of a small Accounting staff based in Nanaimo.
Accounts payable, accounts receivables, account reconciliations, and other related functions.
Ensuring monthend cycle is completed accurately and on time.
Supporting the Accounting team with workflow process improvements, as well as maintaining current accounting procedures, practices, and principles.
Support with various accounting projects as needed.

What we are looking for:

Minimum 5+ years of progressively responsible experience in accounting, including 3+ years of supervisory experience.
A University degree in Business with an emphasis in Accounting, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
Proven knowledge of bookkeeping principles, practices, and standards.
Previous experience working in a dealership environment is an asset.
Excellent technical accounting, analytical, and problemsolving skills.
Expert proficiency in Microsoft Office products.
Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor, with an ability to maintain confidentiality and use discretion in dealing with confidential information.
