Description

We are searching for a Structural Steel & Plate Fitter for our Air Cooler Bays.

Some of the requirements and responsibilities are:

Experience equivalent to a Journeyman Structural Steel & Plate Fitter
Able to read and interpret technical fabrication drawings, then execute fitting operations in accordance with same.
Layout and fit structural members
Layout, cut, cope and drill holes.
Tack weld using the Electric Arc welding process and equipment.
Conduct your work according to Altex's Welding Procedure Specifications, CWB W59 and Client's specifications.
Inform your supervisor or Q.C. Department of any concerns which may arise (Material quality, print discrepancy etc.) while working on any project.
The ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Understand the parameters of standard welding procedures.
Operate the oxyfuel and plasma torches for cutting holes and metal parts.
Operate proficiently, tools and equipment such as grinders, drills and band saws.
The ability to multitask and strong attention to detail.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
The ability to multitask and set priorities, and work in a fastpaced environment.
Quality System Exposure: Must be aware of Quality System and have read/be trained in applicable sections elected to fitting.

Night Shift:
Monday to Thursday 4:30 pm - 3:00 am (40 hours/week)

Weekend Shift:
Friday to Sunday 6:00 am - 6:30 pm (40 hours/week)

Salary:
From $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
