Reporting to finance, the Financial Analyst is responsible for preparing key financial reports and compiles and interprets key financial and operational performance metrics.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with large data sets to prepare, compile and interpret key financial and operational performance metrics and related reports.
- Prepare and track analytics on key expense drivers to contribute to product pricing, budgeting and forecasting decisions.
- Compile and review internal investment opportunities, including capital budgets, new product economics, and other business initiatives.
- Review key financial and operational performance metrics with senior management to enhance and optimize decision making.
- Support organic growth initiatives, M&A, and the evaluation of new strategic partnerships by compiling and interpreting financial data and information, including the development of financial models and forecasting scenarios.
- Assist in the performance of market research, data mining, and business intelligence.
- Work with big data populations and large spreadsheets. Collaborate with accounting, finance and systems teams to contribute to internal system design improvements to drive efficiencies.
- Develop an indepth knowledge of the business, as well as the product offerings in each of the Company's markets;
- Provide other key information and input to support strategic planning and forecasting.
- Participate in and support the annual corporate budgeting process.
- Participate on special projects as required.
- Other duties as assigned from time to time.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in working with and reviewing and interpreting financial data and large data sets.
- Problem solving skills ability to formulate alternatives and recommend a course of action based on data and facts.
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a finance role, or other relevant experience working with large data sets and compiling and interpreting key performance metrics.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to interact with senior management.
- Passion for working in a dynamic and fastpaced environment; and
- Proficiency/advanced skills with Microsoft Excel are essential. Experience with Microsoft Power BI or Microsoft Power Query would also be an asset.
