As an experienced and qualified Chef, you pride yourself on being the first in command, creating and inspecting dishes before they arrive to the customers, consistently ensuring our high-quality standards are met.

You lead and organize all kitchen activities including leading the team of kitchen staff in the day-to-day operations.

You wear many hats as you confidently control and direct food preparation processes, approve dishes, plan orders, arrange repairs, schedule team members and manage budgets.

You also enjoy being part of a team, working collaboratively with leaders on special events and corporate bookings.


While the majority of your time is spent supervising and directing your team, you are also experienced and comfortable with rolling up your sleeves and getting your hands dirty during busy shifts.


With the help of your kitchen staff you create, maintain and are compliant with all nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.

You offer a positive, welcoming space while consistently providing a quality product with a five-star customer service experience to all members and guests.

As an Altea Active Chef a typical day might include the following:

  • Actively managing a position during service periods while supporting staff where required
  • Create menu offerings with new culinary creations ensuring the variety and quality of the servings
  • Collaborate with the team on the design and execution of special events including corporate bookings
  • Reports weekly waste and product loss with associated action planning to reduce future expenses
  • Oversee the work and execution of the entire kitchen team
  • Ensure inventory and ordering is completed and all invoices are logged
  • Oversee the grab and go food selection
  • Liaise with product suppliers on product availability and quality
  • Recruit, select and train new hires
  • Maintain safe and healthy work environment by following organization standards and sanitation regulations

Qualifications:


To land this role you need to have;

  • Proven experience as a Chef
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a quickservice environment
  • Minimum 1year experience at the Management level
  • Experience in a new restaurant opening considered an asset
  • Proficient computer skills including but not limited to: POS, inventory software, Excel and Word
  • Food Safety Course and W.H.M.I.S.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including mornings, days, evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays based on business needs
  • Postsecondary education relating to the culinary, hospitality and/or health and fitness industry and additional certifications or workshops relating to customer service are an asset.
  • CPR/First Aid certification (required to have a minimum of Emergency First Aid and CPR certification) required prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment. CPR is to be renewed annually.
  • All team members must provide a recent Criminal Background Check prior to commencement of training and/or work.
