KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Maintains records of daily requirements for oiling and greasing of individual machines. Maintains all pedestal grinders by dressing wheels and adjusting front guards to proper gap for safe operation.
Maintains coolant system within safety regulations and disposes of used coolant as per safety disposal procedures.

Assists maintenance personnel, as required, to expedite operation of broken-down equipment.

Performs solvent change on degreasing equipment as prescribed in safety procedures.
Inspects all lifting slings and chains as per safety procedures, returns damaged equipment to maintenance staff for repair and labels it with specific safety tag.
Performs sandblasting operations on light and heavy equipment. Performs preparatory work operations using degreasing equipment. Carries out disk grinding work before sandblasting operations as required.
Performs flamecutting operations according to work orders or drawings by selecting appropriate templates and cutting tips, adjusting flames on cutting torches.
Performs routine general maintenance work such as cleaning, greasing and oiling of individual machines.
Follows safe work practices and adheres to safety regulations. Performs other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum completion of Secondary School graduation or equivalent. Normally, 1 to 2 years experience in a

Manufacturing environment. Technical courses would be an asset.

Must be able to handle gas equipment in a safe manner.
Must follow safe work practices and adhere to safety regulations.
Must be able to handle lead ingots of up to 60 lbs.
Should have a basic ability to read and understand drawings.
Should have a basic knowledge of lead pouring operations.
Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Must be an NEW (Nuclear Energy Worker) or prepared to train.
