Junior Information Analyst Co-op:

Open to students registered in a recognized co-op program only

Duration: Fall 2023 (September December 2023)

Location:Victoria (our office is situated on the Selkirk Waterfront on the Gorge Inlet. Enjoy stunning views of downtown Victoria and the Olympic mountains and take advantage of the nearby Galloping Goose Regional Trail for walking and biking).

Salary: $1,819.12 bi-weekly (for students working towards a diploma or bachelor's degree) or $2, for students working towards a post-graduate degree)

Grant:As part of our inVESTED scholarship program, you may be eligible for reimbursement up to a maximum of $1,000 per four-month work term to cover the cost of co-op work term tuition fees.

Team: The Architecture, Information Management and Security (AIMS) branch provides enterprise architecture services, information management, and security operations services to the BC Pension Corporation. AIMS ensures the confidentially, availability, and integrity of all corporate information and data systems and is accountable for fully complying with relevant regulations, standards, and legal frameworks.


The Job Responsibilities:


  • Reviews, compiles and analyses privacy terms across Corporation documentation
  • Working with business units and handles project questions and inquiries
  • Assists with drafting project documentation
  • Assists senior information analysts in project management activities

Learning Outcomes:


  • Information organization, analysis, and synthesis
  • Business writing skills
  • Project planning and reporting
  • Working in an M365 environment (Teams and SharePoint)
  • Develop an understanding of privacy requirements and an introduction to privacy legislation

Requirements:

This opportunity is available to undergraduate and graduate level students studying in areas such as Library and Information Studies, Health Information Science, Business, or related fields

Knowledge and/or experience in the following areas would be an asset:

  • Experience working as part of a project team (at work or school)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize, and work independently
  • Demonstrates analytical and problemsolving skills
  • Previous work experience in information, records, and/or knowledge management
  • Selfmotivated and attentive to detail
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a team environment
  • Successful completion of coursework in relevant topics (e.g. Business Analysis, Database Design, Change Management, Information and Technology Management, etc.)
